New England Shipyard Workers Blown Away by Locals’ Kindness During Shutdown
For six weeks, IBEW members at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard worked without pay, all the while worrying how much longer the federal government shutdown would last and how many more bills would stack up.
They had no idea they’d soon be summoned to the yard’s IBEW office and handed $1,000 each, gifts made possible by the generosity of Second District locals.

IBEW Sponsors Black Ice Pond Hockey Team 2026
IBEW is proud to sponsor a team at the 15th Annual Black Ice Pond Hockey Championships. This years team members consist of John Murphy, Jeff Kruger, James Decormier, William O’Neil, Corey Gillander, Walter Cammack and Brian Casserly. IBEW Local 2320 is proud to recognize John Murphy as the 2025 Linda B. Horan Lifetime Solidarity Award recipient. The Lifetime Solidarity Award honors individuals who have dedicated their lives and have made significant contributions throughout a career of service to the union.

Electrical Lineworker Certificate Program in Partnership with Eversource and IBEW
The MCC Electrical Lineworker Certificate Program prepares students for careers in the electrical power utility industry, as well as for potential transfer into MCC’s Electrical Technology or Technical Studies degree programs. A key component of the program is a hands-on internship with the IBEW, providing students with real-world experience in the field.

Faculty Member Dan Larochelle Hosts Annual VEX State Championship
Full-time faculty member Dan Larochelle from the Department of Automated Manufacturing will host the annual VEX State Championship this winter. This exciting two-day event brings together eighty teams from across New Hampshire and Vermont for a weekend of competition. The championship will take place on February 14 and February 15, 2026, at Manchester Community College (MCC).

We have had an internal vote and Ben Owen has moved from Unit 4 seat to fill the treasurer position. We now have a vacancy for the unit 4 seat.
